CMC Summer Research Program (SRP)

The CMC Summer Research Program (SRP) offers students the opportunity to engage deeply in research with faculty, in a wide variety of fields of study. Students can participate, individually or in small teams, either by applying to work on a faculty-designed project posted on the SRP webpage, or by developing an independent project and asking a faculty member to supervise the project. SRP will run for 8 weeks from May 27-July 18, 2025. Students will be expected to work full time, on campus, and will receive an hourly wage. You can see last year’s project descriptions here: https://www.cmc.edu/summer-research/faculty-projects. The website will be updated with this year’s project descriptions by Feb 14th.

If you are interested, please keep an eye on the website. The deadline to submit an application is March 6th, 2025. These applications will be reviewed by a committee and decisions returned by the end of March.

A few additional details.

  1. You must be planning to be enrolled at CMC, Fall 2025, to apply (studying abroad or through a program such as the DC program count as enrolled).

  2. As noted above, this is an on-campus experience for student researchers. In addition to the supervised research, students participate in weekly seminars, as well as regular, informal, social events. Housing, unfortunately, is not included but the full-time wage is sufficient to cover that cost.

  3. International students must have a social security number. This can take significant time, so please prepare accordingly.
